Veteran artist and music pioneer, Eldee The Don, has shared a remarkable revelation about his father’s contributions to Nigeria's technological advancement. During a conversation on the Adesope Live show, the former rapper disclosed that his father played a pivotal role in connecting Nigeria to the internet, a feat that remains largely unrecognized by many.

According to Eldee, his father established the first cyber cafe in Lagos and was instrumental in providing internet services to major institutions, including oil companies and government organizations. He explained that this early exposure to cutting-edge technology not only shaped his personal growth but also gave him an edge in the music industry.

“My dad was a trailblazer in the tech space,” Eldee explained. “He was the first person to introduce the internet to Nigeria. Although his name isn’t widely known, he was behind key internet connections for Mobil, the Central Bank of Nigeria, and several government agencies. He didn’t seek public recognition, but his work was groundbreaking.”

Eldee also revealed that his father’s passion for technology influenced their household. "We had access to tools and systems that were rare at the time. In fact, we had a fully equipped studio in our house, which made it easier for me to produce music and stay ahead of the curve,” he added.

This lesser-known aspect of Eldee's background highlights how early access to technology can open doors to innovation, not just in business but also in creative industries.
